Sometimes, guys, you just have to roll with the punches… and become things you never thought you’d be.
Shenna contacted me about photographing her best friend’s beach wedding. The couple and their close family and friends were coming to Florida for a small beach elopement. And she wanted to gift them with a photographer! How sweet is that? Based on that, I knew immediately that this wedding party was going to be full of love and joy. But things quickly took a turn.
My husband and I stopped for Starbucks on the way to the hotel, so I texted to offer a little pick me up to the wedding party. Sheena told me that there was an emergency and Katie, the sweet bride, was in the middle of a small breakdown. Needless to say, Clay and I ghosted our Starbucks order and hopped out of the drive through line, heading straight to the hotel.
When I arrived for Katie and Kyle’s beach wedding, things hadn’t quuuuuiiiiite gone smoothly with Katie’s hair. And it was her wedding day!!! So we couldn’t let her be disappointed. I grabbed a brush and some bobby pins and we had a make it work moment! She would have been beautiful regardless, but I think we’ll both always remember the moment the photographer became the hair stylist! We got Katie to the beach in plenty of time and the rest of the evening went off without a hitch. Thankfully, we were all able to have a good laugh about everything after the fact.
